Langres - France

Andematunum is the Latin name of the French town Langres. And yes, this week Goibniu takes you with him on a journey.
You can find Langres on the map in the northeastern part of France, between Nancy and Dijon (mustard city). It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Luxembourg, Switzerland, or the German border.
Why should you stop and visit it? Because it has a rich history and culture, and some very good gastronomic things to taste. The town has a medieval city wall with a length of 3.5 km. The town received the title "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire," meaning "Town of Art and History." All year round, tourists visit the museums and religious places; it is almost a must to put a visit to Langres on your bucket list.
Until the introduction of the home computer, we all used books, "encyclopedias," as a source of knowledge. Now, let it be a coincidence that the first encyclopedia was written by Denis Diderot, a resident of Langres.
Langres is also known for its knife history and the forts and fortified citadel surrounding it.
Goibniu would say go and have fun. We could write a book about Langres, but it is a better idea that you go and have a look.
