European Knife Show

Strasbourg, the city of the European Parliament, is also the place where we find the EKS (European Knife Show). Because it is only 248 km from my house, I paid the show a lightning-bolt visit.

Wow, what a selection of knifemakers they had this edition! Many visitors came from afar just to try to buy a knife from one of their favorite knifemakers. Some of them were very early, at 4 o'clock in the morning, already in line to be sure to buy the knife they liked. I myself was 10 minutes after opening in the big hall and there were already knifemakers sold out. Good? Yes and no. Yes, if the buyer is a real fan and collector, but no when the buyer resells the knife very fast after buying with a lot of profit. I personally think that it breaks the honesty between customers and makers.

And no, I'm not talking about the owners of knife shops or prestigious knife boutiques that buy knives to resell in their shop. That is a gentleman's business agreement.
