Colibri

The Colibri! Yes, it's a bird, but not this time. This time, it's an EDC folding knife made by BPS Knives.

At the end of February, at the IWA, I visited the BPS booth, and they asked me if I would choose a knife for a review. I said yes, why not, so I chose the Colibri. It took a while before I took it off the shelf to do the unboxing.

Of course, I'm a curious person and had a peek already, but I write about much gear, beverages, food, traveling, and other things. I don't want to write on a chain about knives and EDC gear.

But I think now is a good time to do the unboxing of this BPS knife, the "Colibri."

First, it's amazing how light this knife is (73g),

and it feels great in the hand.

When you surge on the website of BPS, you will see that the Colibri falls under the category

camping knives and that it's a flipper. For me, it's more a very light EDC knife with a modified flipper system. The knife has no flipper tab like other knives. It's a more hidden one, and it also has a rounded front flipper possibility that asks for some training and a sturdy thumbnail.

When open, the swiped-up blade is the first thing that catches your eye.

Honestly, I like that.

Further specs of this knife are that the handles are made of G10 (olive drab), the blade is made of 14C28N steel, and it has a non-reversible deep-carry pocket clip.

Opened, the knife measures 185mm; closed, 105mm, so it has a blade length of 80mm.

All in all, my first conclusion after this unboxing is that it is a smooth, light EDC knife with qualitatively chosen materials. And it comes very sharp out of the box.

So I would rate this knife with: ###/####

Follow for more future reviews, great new things, and yes, you will read more about this small knife and the BPS knife company in the future.
