Flashlight

Why do we give names to everybody and everything? I believe it is because otherwise, our brain says, "Stop, reset, delete!" Companies also name their products so we can all talk about the same product.

In this case, Nitecore, a company that makes flashlights and more, gave this tiny, powerful flashlight the name "TIP3." With a body of +/- 6 cm long and a weight of 30 grams, it has a maximum output of 720 lumens. I must confess, I never read the technical information that comes with an object. I like to try it out until I figure it out. This lamp has two buttons: one power on/off button and one switch button to toggle between the candle modes (yellow and white). But! You have to press both for 2 seconds to unlock the system. After you've figured it out, it's fun to play with and discover all the options. Yes, you could read the technical explanations, but, hmm, boring.

When I'm on duty (70% outdoors) and I work late and have night shifts, I use a flashlight all the time. So I wondered if this small fellow could do the job. Yes and no!

Yes: the light is very bright in full darkness, so you can use it to help you find your way in the field and on the ranges. But to check the positions where an exercise is going on, it's missing power. It's more than normal that you can't put more than you can or would in such a small body.

It's the first time I've used a flashlight from Nitecore. I'm curious to try other models in the future, more duty and EDC related, to see and find out which one is suitable.

The TIP3 is too small for EDC, but it's a great backup light to have in your gear bag, backpack, or car. Easy to recharge with USB-C (a small cable is delivered with the flashlight); in low mode, it runs 160 hours. And you don't break the bank to buy one. You can even choose between an orange, black, or blue one.

So yes, for as small as it is, and yes there are other brands that make smaller lights, it's a powerful unit. I'm happy I have one. After the tests I did, it now has its place in my gear bag.

We from Goibniu rate it with: ###/####.

And no, your phone's light can't replace a flashlight!

More technical explanations you will find in the link below.

Go out and enjoy life!
