Silky Bigboy 2000 Outback edition

Yes, indeed, a saw, but not just a saw; we could test the Silky Bigboy 2000 Outback edition. That model has a handle made of a wood/plastic composition and a blade with razor-sharp teeth that easily cut dry hardwood and even young saplings.

Because the saw is foldable and comes with a nylon sheath, it is practical to take on kayaking, hiking, and biking trips.  With a weight of only 478 g and folded dimensions of 405×80×20 mm, it fits in many bags and is not heavy. In the same Outback line, if you really want to go lightweight, there are smaller models like the Gomeboy or even smaller ones like the Pocketboy.

Of course, the smaller you go, the less thick the wood you need to cut can be.

I personally always take the Bigboy and thebPocketboy with me.  Like the rules say, one is none, two is one. I could write a lot more about this saw, but that is not my goal. My goal is to encourage you to test a Silky saw for yourself. But if you would like to see more about it, you can find many tests and uses of Silky saws on YouTube.  One of my favorite YouTube channels is Dutch Bushcraft Knives; find the link below, as well as the Silky website.

One more thing to know is that these Japanese saws only cut when you pull the saw through the wood; do not push it back forcefully, otherwise the blade will snap.

And, not to forget, Goibniu rates this saw with:####/#####
